For many neurodivergent children, joy, comfort, and self-expression are closely linked to those deep, passionate focuses that bring them excitement, meaning, and calm.
Whether it’s a favourite Roblox game, a beloved PlayStation character, a favourite YouTuber, or even a movie character (yes of course I mean Rumi from K-pop Demon Hunters). They can be a key part of how a child connects with others, makes sense of the world, and regulates their emotions.
That’s why I’m such a fan of Youtooz; an online store that turns many of these beloved characters and fandoms into beautifully made plushies, figures, and sensory-friendly collectibles. Youtooz offers weighted plushies, which are particularly valuable for children who benefit from deep pressure input; a form of sensory regulation that can help the body and brain feel calmer. Weighted toys can help reduce anxiety, support sleep, and provide a grounding sense of security during moments of stress or transition.
You can explore their range at youtooz.com, but be warned, their characters are so lovable that parents often end up picking one for themselves too!
