Jessica Leyton

Registered Psychologist

I am a Registered Psychologist currently working with adolescents and adults. I completed my Bachelor of Psychology in 2017 and Master of Psychology (Professional) in 2020. As a psychologist at The Kidd Clinic, I provide psychological support and assessments for a range of clients including those presenting with:

  • Autism

  • ADHD

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Gender diversity

  • and PTSD

I have developed a passion for working with those who have experienced and survived trauma, gender diverse youth and adults, as well as neurodivergent individuals wanting to explore their neurotype.

In my work with clients, I like to draw upon several therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy techniques (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy techniques (DBT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other trauma-informed approaches.

Having worked within the disability and community sector for the past six years, I have developed a person-centred approach to my practice. I aim to work from a neurodivergent affirming and trauma-informed lens with all clients that I see. I strongly believe that those who come to see me for support are the experts in their lives, and as such I prefer to walk alongside individuals and families in their therapy journey.

When I am not working, I am usually at the beach, taking care of my plants, or playing video games!
