Annabelle Jackson
Registered Psychologist

Hi, my name’s Annabelle. I enjoy working with children and early adolescents, supporting them to explore and celebrate their strengths and whole selves, to tackle challenges, to feel confident being them, and to better understand the ways that their amazing brains work. I am passionate about supporting connection and understanding between young people and those that are important to them. I work collaboratively and with a neuroaffirming, trauma-informed, and person-centred approach.
I have spent many years working as a psychologist across primary schools and education support centres, in a consultancy role supporting students’ experiencing significant distress and engagement challenges, as well as working in private practise. Through this time, I have been privileged to get to know and support many neurodivergent children, adolescents, and their families.
I provide therapy and assessments for children and adolescents. For both I aim to centre the young person’s preferences and experiences, and to go at a pace that honours their needs – this might fluctuate between and during sessions. For therapy, I tend to draw on CBT, DNA-V (a combination of ACT and positive psychology), and brief solution-focussed therapy, often adapting these to be more affirming. Where it suits the young person, I love incorporating play, movement, interests, and creativity into sessions. I also offer formal assessments to explore autism, ADHD, cognitive ability, and/or specific learning disabilities.
I was born in New Zealand but have spent most of my life in Perth. My heart feels just as happy surrounded by mountains or countryside as it does at the beach. My favourite colour is green, and my favourite insect is the blue-banded bee. I love cats and dogs – I grew up with mischievous Burmese cats and am now a human-servant to an elderly Welsh Terrier. I am remarkably uncoordinated but enjoy a random dance. I also like to read, sketch, write, make crafty things, find new plants to cram into my garden, look for shells and laze at the beach, stretch and relax with Pilates, share in my kids’ interests (currently Lego and BTS), and explore new places with friends and family.
